Periodontology
Periodontology or referred as Gum Disease is a study of an inflection on the tissues, gums, bones, and periodontal ligament surrounding the teeth that are supporting the teeth and maintaining the jaw structure.
There are 4 Stages of Periodontal Disease as following;
- Gingivitis (Gum Disease) the gum becomes swelling, redness and bleeding.
- Slight Periodontal Disease destroying 30% of the bone structure.
- Moderate Periodontal Disease destroying 60% of the bone structure but not yet invading the root.
- Advanced Periodontal Disease destroying most of bone structure and part of root canal, the root canal becomes infected and may involve root canal treatment which is a more complicated treatment.
