Periodontology

Periodontology or referred as Gum Disease is a study of an inflection on the tissues, gums, bones, and periodontal ligament surrounding the teeth that are supporting the teeth and maintaining the jaw structure.

There are 4 Stages of Periodontal Disease as following;

  1. Gingivitis (Gum Disease) the gum becomes swelling, redness and bleeding.
  2. Slight Periodontal Disease destroying 30% of the bone structure.
  3. Moderate Periodontal Disease destroying 60% of the bone structure but not yet invading the root.
  4. Advanced Periodontal Disease destroying most of bone structure and part of root canal, the root canal becomes infected and may involve root canal treatment which is a more complicated treatment.
