What is a dental implant?
Dental implants are “simulated tooth roots” made of titanium that are implanted into the jawbone in the place of a missing tooth to support a fixed denture (a crown), allowing you to chew food and feel confident like you have natural teeth.

Why do I need a dental implant if I only have one tooth missing?
Prevent tooth decay: Adjacent teeth may fall into the gap.
Prevent overbite: Opposite teeth may protrude into the gap.
Chew food normally: No need to force one tooth to be used.
Maintain gum and bone health: Reduce the chance of bone collapse in the missing tooth position.
Restore natural smile: No metal hooks or bridges.

Other treatment options that can replace a missing tooth

Fixed dental bridge
A fixed bridge consists of one or more artificial teeth supported by adjacent natural teeth. The natural teeth are ground down to provide a support base. The bridge is permanently fixed and does not require surgery.

Removable dental bridge
A removable bridge, also known as a denture, is a semi-permanent treatment that involves one or more false teeth attached to a gum-colored base of teeth that can be removed for cleaning. While they are less expensive than dental implants, they may not be as stable or comfortable.
Dental implants give you back the confidence to smile and chew.
